4. Using the website

  • The information on our website is general. It is not legal, financial or technical advice for your business.
  • We try to keep the website accurate and up to date. If you see an error, please tell us.
  • We do not promise the website will always be available or free of faults.
  • The website suggests a market version based on your browser’s time zone. You can switch versions at any time. The prices, currency and terms for your market are the ones shown on the version you use to buy.
  • Links to other websites are for your convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for them.
  • You do not need an account to use the website.
  • The Signal Score includes Google Maps features and content. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current versions of the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps) and the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

5. Signal Score

5.1 What the Signal Score is

The Signal Score is a report on how a local business gets found, chosen and contacted. It uses public information, search and maps data, a check of your website on a phone, and answers from an AI assistant. It shows a picture of your business at the time of the scan, with a score out of 100 and fixes in order.

5.2 Free report

  • The free report does not need an account or a card. We ask for your email address so we can send you a private link to your report.
  • It shows what a customer sees for one of the searches you chose, your score out of 100 with getting found, getting chosen and getting contacted each rated in words, and your first three fixes.
  • You can choose to let us email you about your score and how to improve it. The box is not ticked for you, and you get your report either way.

5.3 Full report

  • Price: USD 49 for international customers, R799 in South Africa, AED 179 in the UAE. The price is once-off. It is not a subscription.
  • What you get: the full Signal Score report for one business, including a 30-day plan and one re-scan 30 days after purchase that shows what changed.
  • Delivery: the report opens on a private web page when the scan finishes, and we email you the link. You can download it as a PDF from that page.
  • If you do not receive it: contact us if the link has not arrived within 24 hours. We will resend it.
  • If you later work with BTR: the price you paid is credited against your Foundation Fee.

5.4 What the Signal Score is not

The Signal Score is not:

  • an audit of your private accounts, such as your Google Business Profile dashboard or website back end
  • legal, financial, tax or technical advice
  • a certification, rating or endorsement by Google, Meta, OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic or any other platform
  • a promise of any result

BTR is not affiliated with Google, Meta, OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic or any data provider we use.

5.5 Accuracy of third-party data

The Signal Score depends on information from third parties. Please keep in mind that:

  • search results, maps data, directories and reviews can be incomplete or out of date
  • AI engines give different answers depending on time, location, device and how a question is asked. Their answers change often.
  • parts of the report are written with AI, and AI can make mistakes
  • a scan run on a different day may give a different result

Check important points before you act on them. If you think your report contains an error, tell us and we will look at it.

5.6 No guarantees

We do not guarantee rankings, traffic or AI citations. We also do not guarantee enquiries, sales or revenue. The Signal Score tells you where you stand and what to fix. Results depend on your market, your competitors and platforms we do not control.

5.7 Full report with a walkthrough call

  • Price: USD 99 for international customers, R1,499 in South Africa, AED 379 in the UAE. The price is once-off and includes the full report in section 5.3.
  • What you get: the full report, one call of up to 30 minutes with Will Barnardt on a video call, and written notes of your first steps.
  • Booking: we agree a time with you for a call within 14 days of your report. If you need to move the call, tell us at least 24 hours before it starts and we agree a new time within the same 14 days, or later if we both agree in writing. If you miss the call without telling us, we offer you one new time. If that call is missed too, the call counts as delivered.
  • Recording: we record the call so we can write your notes and you can watch it again. We tell you before the recording starts. If you do not want the call recorded, tell us and we will not record it. You still get your notes.
  • After the call: we email you the written notes, and the recording if the call was recorded, within 2 business days.
  • Foundation Fee: the price of the full report with a walkthrough call is not credited against a Foundation Fee.

6. Services no longer on sale

6.1 BTR Growth Audit

The BTR Growth Audit is no longer on sale. If you ordered a Growth Audit, the terms on the website on the day you ordered it still apply to your order.

6.2 IGNITE (orders placed before 11 October 2026)

IGNITE is no longer sold. If you bought IGNITE before 11 October 2026, the IGNITE terms that applied on the day you bought it still apply to your order.

7. Managed services: INBOUND and INBOUND+

7.1 Separate written agreement

INBOUND and INBOUND+ are not sold through online checkout. We sell them by written quote and agreement. These terms apply to your use of the website. Your agreement governs the managed services. If your agreement and these terms conflict, your agreement wins.

7.2 Prices

South AfricaUAEInternational
INBOUND (per month)R12,500AED 6,500USD 1,699
INBOUND+ (per month)R17,500AED 9,000USD 2,399
Foundation Fee (once-off)R15,000, R25,000 or R45,000AED 8,000, AED 13,000 or AED 23,500USD 2,099, USD 3,499 or USD 6,299

International means any business outside South Africa and the UAE.

We quote the Foundation Fee in writing after your Signal Score. The level depends on the work your business needs. The fee in your written quote is the fee you pay. Section 9.3 explains VAT.

Foundation Fee build work takes 2 to 4 weeks from your go-ahead, depending on what needs building. It pauses while we wait for access or information from you. When the build is done, we confirm the go-live date in writing.

Your monthly fee includes the WhatsApp messaging charges Meta makes for your assistant. We do not bill them to you separately.

Both plans include management of the nine channels and the WhatsApp assistant. We monitor and reply to your Google and Facebook reviews, and we keep your Facebook and Instagram profiles accurate and current. Neither plan includes posting social media content or running paid ads. If you ask, we quote those separately.

INBOUND+ also includes:

  • BTR Direct: you work directly with Will Barnardt on your growth priorities
  • earned mentions: we work to get your business named on other sites that AI engines quote, such as publications and industry sites
  • review requests: after a visit or job, we send one WhatsApp message asking for a review to each of your customers who has agreed to receive messages from you

Your agreement sets out the detail. Both plans get the same response times and the same report date. INBOUND+ is limited to 15 clients in total, across all our markets. When all 15 places are taken, new clients can join a waitlist. A place on the waitlist does not reserve your area: one business per industry per area still applies.

7.3 Contract terms

The main contract terms are:

  • a 3-month minimum from go-live
  • after that, you can end the agreement with 30 days written notice
  • no exit fee, no clawback and no penalty
  • you own everything: your Google accounts, Meta accounts, WhatsApp Business accounts, website, content, data and reports
  • full handover within 14 days of exit

7.4 Our guarantee

“Every month, you get a report with named metrics and named actions. If something isn’t working, the report says what we’re changing. If after 3 months you’re not seeing the progress, you can end the agreement on 30 days notice and keep everything we built. No exit fee, no clawback.”

This guarantee is about reporting, transparency and your right to end the agreement. It is not a guarantee of rankings, traffic or AI citations.

7.5 Consumers in South Africa

If you are a consumer and CPA section 14 applies to your agreement, you may have the right to cancel on 20 business days written notice, even during the minimum term. Nothing in these terms or your agreement limits that right.

7.6 Your customers’ information

When we manage your channels, we process your customers’ personal information on your behalf. Your agreement includes the terms that govern this. Our Privacy Policy explains our role.

For INBOUND+ review requests, you confirm that every customer on the list has agreed to receive messages from your business. We send one request per customer and no reminders.

8. Exclusivity and territory checks

8.1 One business per industry per area

We work with one business per industry per area. This applies to active INBOUND and INBOUND+ agreements. Your agreement describes your industry and area in writing.

The Signal Score, with or without a walkthrough call, is not exclusive. Other businesses in your industry and area can buy it.

We work with international clients after a territory check. As a US company, we cannot work with businesses in countries or regions under US sanctions.

8.2 Territory checks

You can use the territory check form to ask whether your area is available.

  • A territory check tells you whether an area is available on the day we reply.
  • A territory check is not a reservation. An area is only reserved for you once we have both signed an agreement.
  • Another business may sign for the same area before you do.

9. Prices, currency and VAT

9.1 Prices and currency

Prices are shown in the currency of the market version you use: South African Rand (R) on the South African site, UAE Dirham (AED) on the UAE site, and US Dollars (USD) on the international site.

You pay the prices of the market where your business operates, not the version of the website you viewed. A business in South Africa pays South African prices, a business in the UAE pays UAE prices, and a business anywhere else pays international prices.

9.2 Currency conversion

If your card is in a different currency, your bank converts the amount. Your bank may charge a fee or use its own exchange rate. We do not control this.

9.3 VAT

BTR Consult is not registered for VAT, so the prices on our website carry none. If that changes, the price you agreed stays the same and we carry the VAT.

  • Managed services: the fee in your written quote is the fee you pay. If we become liable to register for VAT while your agreement runs, the fee does not change.
  • Signal Score and the full report with a walkthrough call: the checkout, payment link or invoice shows the full amount before you pay. You will not pay anything more than the amount shown.

If your business must account for VAT on services it buys from outside its own country, for example under a reverse charge, that remains your responsibility.

9.4 Price changes and errors

  • We may change our prices. A change does not affect an order you have already paid for.
  • Prices for managed services only change as your agreement allows.
  • If we show a price that is obviously wrong, we will tell you before we deliver. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

10. Payment

10.1 How you pay

  • Signal Score: by card through Stripe, in full, when you order.
  • Full report with a walkthrough call: in full when you order, by card through Stripe at checkout, through a Stripe payment link or against our invoice.
  • Managed services: as set out in your agreement.

Stripe processes card payments under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). We never see or store your full card number. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle payment information.

10.2 How ordering works

  1. You choose a product.
  2. The checkout shows an order summary with the product, price and currency.
  3. You can correct any mistakes, or leave the checkout without paying.
  4. You confirm that you agree to these terms and pay.
  5. Your order is accepted when your payment succeeds.

10.3 Your record of the transaction

Stripe emails you a receipt for every online payment. For the Signal Score, we also email you the link to your report, which you can download as a PDF. Keep these for your records. If you need a copy of a receipt, email us. We keep payment records for at least 5 years.

10.4 Chargebacks

If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us first. We will try to fix it quickly. This does not limit any right you have with your bank.

11. Cancellation, cooling-off and refunds

11.1 Who has consumer rights

South Africa: the ECTA cooling-off right protects natural persons (individual people) who buy online as the end user. It generally does not protect companies or other juristic persons. The Consumer Protection Act protects individuals and some smaller businesses.

UAE: the UAE Consumer Protection Law protects consumers who buy goods or services in the UAE.

11.2 Cooling-off in South Africa

If you are a consumer under ECTA, you may cancel an online purchase of services without reason and without penalty within 7 days after the agreement is made. If you have paid, we refund you in full within 30 days of your cancellation.

To cancel, email hello@btrconsult.net with your name and order details.

11.3 Services that start during the cooling-off period

Under ECTA section 42(2)(d), the cooling-off right does not apply to services that began with your consent before the 7 days end.

Signal Score full report: the report starts as soon as you pay. At checkout, we ask you to agree that the report starts straight away and that you then lose the cooling-off right. If you do not agree, you cannot buy the full report online. Email us and we will help.

Full report with a walkthrough call: the report starts as soon as you pay, in the same way. If you order through a payment link or invoice, we ask you to agree to this in writing before we start.

11.4 Refunds

Signal Score full report:

  • If the report gets a fact about your business wrong, tell us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.
  • If a fault on our side means you do not receive your report, or it is materially incomplete, we will run it again at no cost or refund you in full. You choose.
  • Otherwise, once your report has been produced we do not refund it, because it is delivered straight away.

Full report with a walkthrough call:

  • If the report gets a fact about your business wrong, tell us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund the whole price, including the call.
  • If we cannot hold the call within 14 days of your report for a reason on our side, you choose: a later time we agree with you, or a refund of the difference between this price and the price of the full report on its own.
  • The other full report refunds above apply to the report.
  • Apart from the first point, once the call has taken place we do not refund it, because the service has been delivered.

We make refunds to the card or account you paid from, in the same currency, within 30 days.

11.5 If our work is not done properly

We carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. If something we did is not done properly, tell us as soon as you can. We will fix it at no cost. If we cannot fix it, we will refund a reasonable part of the price. This reflects CPA section 54 and UAE consumer law.

11.6 Other rights

  • If we fail to give you the information ECTA section 43 requires, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the service.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights under ECTA, the Consumer Protection Act, the UAE Consumer Protection Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

12. Intellectual property and ownership

12.1 What you own

You own your accounts, your website, your content, your data and your reports. This includes anything we create or change in your accounts as part of our work.

If we set up an account for you, we set it up in your name with you as owner. When our work ends, we remove our access.

12.2 What we keep

We keep ownership of our own tools and methods. These include:

  • the Signal Score method, scoring and benchmarks
  • our software, including the Growth Engine
  • our report templates, prompts, workflows and checklists
  • our general know-how

We may use these for other clients. Using them in your work does not transfer them to you.

12.3 Using your reports

You may use, copy and share your reports for your business. You may share them with your staff, advisers and service providers, and you may quote your own score in public.

You may not resell our reports, or present our templates or methods as your own.

12.4 Permission you give us

You give us permission to use your content, logos, business information and account access only to deliver the services you buy.

We may use anonymised, aggregated data from scans and services to improve the Signal Score and our benchmarks. This data does not identify you or your business.

12.5 Case studies

We will only name your business or publish your results as a case study with your written permission.

12.6 Our website

The content and design of our website belong to BTR. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not copy or republish them without our written permission.

13. Acceptable use

When you use our website or services, you must not:

  • try to access our systems without permission, or interfere with their security
  • use bots, scrapers or automated tools on the website, other than normal search engine indexing
  • run large numbers of Signal Scores to overload our systems or copy our method
  • give us false or misleading information
  • use a Signal Score or report to mislead, harass or defame any person or business
  • ask us to do anything unlawful or against a platform’s rules, such as posting fake reviews, buying reviews or followers, or sending messages without permission

You are responsible for the content and information you give us. You are also responsible for having permission to message your own customers, for example under WhatsApp’s opt-in rules.

We may limit use of the free report, or refuse or stop a service, if you break this section. If we stop a paid service for this reason, we will explain why in writing.

14. Third-party platforms

Our work relies on platforms we do not control, including Google, Meta, WhatsApp, AI engines, directories and Stripe.

  • These platforms change their rules, algorithms, features and prices, often without notice.
  • They can reject changes, remove listings, or restrict or suspend accounts.
  • AI engines can change how they choose, rank and describe businesses at any time.

We follow the published rules of these platforms. We are not responsible for their decisions or changes. If a platform change affects your service, we will tell you and adjust our approach.

Your use of each platform is governed by that platform’s own terms. You are responsible for accepting and following them.

15. Limitation of liability

Important notice: this section limits our liability to you. Please read it carefully.

15.1 What we are responsible for

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

15.2 What we are not responsible for

We are not responsible for:

  • rankings, traffic, AI citations, enquiries or sales, because we do not guarantee them
  • decisions, changes, outages or suspensions by third-party platforms
  • delays or gaps in our work caused by you not giving us access or information
  • errors caused by incorrect information you gave us
  • loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity, if you are a business customer
  • indirect or consequential loss that was not foreseeable when you bought from us

15.3 Our maximum liability

Our total liability to you for all claims about a product or service is limited to:

  • for the Signal Score, with or without a walkthrough call, the price you paid for that product
  • for managed services, the fees you paid under your agreement in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim

15.4 What we do not limit

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:

  • fraud or dishonesty
  • gross negligence or wilful misconduct
  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • anything else the law does not allow us to limit, including under CPA section 51 and ECTA section 48

If you are a consumer, this section applies only as far as the law allows.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, including information sent to Google, AI engines and our other service providers during a Signal Score. It forms part of these terms. Read it at https://btrconsult.net/privacy-policy/.

17. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our website, a product or a service:

  1. Email hello@btrconsult.net with your name, what you bought and what went wrong.
  2. We will confirm we have your complaint within 5 business days.
  3. We will give you a full answer within 30 days.

If you are still unhappy:

  • South Africa: you can contact the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. For privacy complaints, contact the Information Regulator at https://inforegulator.org.za.
  • UAE: you can contact the consumer protection authority in the UAE.
  • Anywhere: you can use the steps in section 18.

18. Governing law and disputes

18.1 Which law applies

  • If you buy through the South African site (/za/), or you are a consumer in South Africa, the law of South Africa applies. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
  • In all other cases, the law of the State of Wyoming, United States, applies. The courts of Sheridan County, Wyoming have jurisdiction.

18.2 Your consumer protections stay in place

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of the country where you live, where those laws cannot be excluded. For South African consumers, ECTA section 47 means ECTA’s consumer protections apply whatever law is chosen. For UAE consumers, the UAE Consumer Protection Law applies.

18.3 Resolving disputes

  1. Please use the complaints process in section 17 first.
  2. If that does not resolve the dispute, we will both try in good faith to settle it within 30 days.
  3. If the dispute is still not settled, either of us may go to the courts named in section 18.1. We may also agree to use mediation.

Either of us may ask a court for urgent relief at any time.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our products, prices or the law change. We will show the new date at the top.

  • The terms that apply to an order are the terms on the website when you placed it.
  • Changes do not affect orders you have already paid for.
  • Your managed services agreement only changes as that agreement allows.

20. General

  • Whole agreement: for online purchases, these terms and the checkout summary are the whole agreement between us. For managed services, your agreement and quote apply with these terms.
  • If part is invalid: if a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfer: we may transfer our rights and duties to a business that takes over our services. We will tell you, and your rights will not be reduced. If you are a business customer, you need our written consent to transfer yours.
  • Events beyond our control: we are not responsible for delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as platform outages, internet failures or natural disasters. We will tell you and resume as soon as we can.
  • Notices: we will send notices to the email address you gave us. You can send notices to hello@btrconsult.net.
  • Language: these terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and there is a conflict, the English version applies, unless the law requires otherwise.
