What are good options for marketing an aesthetic clinic in Dubai without running paid ads?

Will Barnardt 8 min read

Which unpaid options does a Dubai aesthetic clinic have?

Six options cost no ad spend: a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, one page for each treatment on your website, fast WhatsApp replies, being named in AI answers, and organic posts that follow DHA's social media standard. They work as a set, and the bar is high. In BTR Consult's check of the first ten Google Maps results for "aesthetic clinic Jumeirah" on 14 September 2026, all ten had a website, all ten had more than 100 reviews and all ten listed Monday hours past 6pm. Only three of the ten were named when we asked ChatGPT and Perplexity which Jumeirah clinics they would recommend. Unpaid does not mean unregulated. DHA's standard ST-21 covers social media posts and WhatsApp, and none of the clauses we read exempts a post because it was not paid for.

What do the top aesthetic clinics in Jumeirah already do online?

They are open late, make calling one tap and have plenty of reviews. The gaps in this sample sit in the basics. On 6 October 2026 all ten clinic websites had a tap-to-call link, but only six showed opening hours in the page's HTML. On 14 September, seven linked to WhatsApp and five showed a licence number. The median mobile speed score was 31.5 out of 100 across the eight sites Google's Lighthouse could test. None reached 90. A clinic that starts with a complete, accurate profile, a page per treatment and a site that loads is working on the things this sample leaves open. It still has to match ten competitors that are open into the evening and put a phone link on the page.

Why does "no paid ads" not mean "no DHA rules"?

DHA's Standards for Medical Advertisement Content on Social Media, ST-21 version 1.1, apply to every DHA-licensed clinic and healthcare professional that promotes on social media, and WhatsApp counts as social media. Clause 6.11 bans 21 words, including "the best", "unique", "exclusive" and "safest", and says the list is not complete. Clause 9.1 requires written consent for any patient photo, video or statement. Clause 9.6 requires the statement "there is no guarantee that the result will be the same, as it might vary from one individual to another" on before and after images. Clause 5.3 requires the Medical Director's approval for a post that names the clinic. When BTR Consult read 17 Dubai dental and aesthetic clinic websites on 6 October 2026, 12 used at least one of the banned words about themselves.

17 Dubai clinic websites, 6 October 2026Count
Used a word from the clause 6.11 list in the clinic's own voice12 of 17
Called themselves "best"9 of 17
Showed before and after images10 of 17
Of those 10, carried a "results may vary" statement1 of 10
Of those 10, used the exact clause 9.6 wording0 of 10

A website is not social media, so these figures show how clinics write about themselves and not whether any of them broke ST-21. Every clause, with what it means for the person posting, is in our guide to Dubai's social media advertising rules for clinics. This is a summary, not legal advice, and DHA's current published standard always applies.

How do the unpaid options compare?

Each option needs something different from the clinic, and each has its own point to watch under the DHA standard. The table shows what each needs, the point to watch and whether BTR Consult runs it. Three of the six start on something the clinic controls: the Google Business Profile, the review request link and the WhatsApp Business app. We do not run social media content, and we say so in the last row. Read the table as a work list and not a ranking. The assistants we asked disagree about which channel comes first, and we have no data that puts one above another for a Dubai clinic. If you start somewhere, start with the profile and the WhatsApp reply, because each can be checked the same day.

What did AI assistants recommend when we asked this question?

We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode this question on 7 October 2026, one run each. Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode put local search and the Google Business Profile first. ChatGPT led with doctors posting short videos, and Claude led with Instagram and TikTok. ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode each added that DHA's rules apply. None of the answers we recorded named a provider. One run is a snapshot and not a ranking, because answers change from run to run. What we take from it is narrow: the assistants disagree about which channel comes first, so this page treats the options as a set and shows what each one needs. ChatGPT also cited DHA's own circular and standard pages, a reminder of where the rules are published.

What do UAE marketing agencies include, and what do they charge?

Expect an SEO package priced from the low thousands of dirhams, and read the scope. Ten UAE agencies publish a price, and the median entry tier is AED 2,250 a month, from AED 1,500 to AED 3,999 (BTR Consult survey, 6 October 2026). All ten described a monthly report. At least three include paid ad management in their packages. One named review management, and none offered WhatsApp as a managed service. Two said in writing that you own your accounts, and one of those two covered only the ad account. Entry packages often cover a few pages or keywords, so ask what the first month includes. BTR Consult sells a managed service and so has a stake in this comparison. The counts come from each agency's own pages, and no agency is named.

Where does BTR Consult fit for a Dubai aesthetic clinic?

BTR Consult runs the unpaid routes above for one aesthetic clinic per area, with a report every month. BTR Consult runs on the same Growth Engine. The full BTR Signal Score report costs AED 179 once and you do the work. SureReply, the WhatsApp assistant on its own, costs AED 1,649 a month with 500 chats included and top-ups of AED 143 per 100. INBOUND runs Maps, reviews, treatment pages and WhatsApp together for AED 6,500 a month plus a once-off Foundation Fee of AED 8,000 to AED 23,500, quoted in writing. INBOUND+ at AED 9,000 a month adds Will Barnardt as your strategic partner, earned mentions and a WhatsApp review request to patients who have agreed to hear from you. The assistant answers in English.

We set the profile, pages and WhatsApp assistant up around the DHA rules and flag anything we see that may need attention. The clinic stays responsible for its own compliance. We are not the right fit if you want Instagram content, influencer work or paid campaigns run for you, if you are a hospital group with its own marketing team, or if a competitor in your area is already a client. Start with the free BTR Signal Score to see what a patient sees, then choose between the full report, SureReply and the monthly plans on the pricing page. See the page for aesthetic clinics in the UAE for how the nine channels are set up.

How was this checked, and what are the limits?

  • Maps search, 14 September 2026. The first ten non-sponsored Google Maps results for "aesthetic clinic Jumeirah", from a browser outside the UAE. Review counts for this search are not quoted beyond "more than 100", because two versions of the count did not match.
  • Website read, 6 October 2026. Ten Jumeirah clinic homepages, fetched once as raw HTML, so a button or hours drawn by a script would be missed. Each count is a minimum. Speed is the Lighthouse mobile score for the eight sites it could test.
  • DHA read, 6 October 2026. ST-21 version 1.1, and 17 Dubai dental and aesthetic clinic websites: the homepage and one linked page each, read as text. Words inside images were not read.
  • Agency pages, 6 October 2026. Ten UAE agencies that publish packages, found by web search. It is a convenience sample, and "not stated" does not mean "not offered".
  • AI answers, 7 October 2026. One run per engine.
  • Limits. These figures show what was there and cannot show that any channel brings patients. No business is named.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Dubai aesthetic clinic get patients without paid ads?

The unpaid routes are a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, a page for each treatment, fast WhatsApp replies and posts that follow DHA's standard. No channel is guaranteed to bring patients, and Google says a better local ranking cannot be bought.

Does DHA ST-21 apply to unpaid Instagram posts?

Yes. ST-21 applies to every DHA-licensed clinic and healthcare professional that promotes on social media, and WhatsApp counts as social media. None of the clauses BTR Consult read exempts a post because it was not paid for.

What must a before and after photo say on a clinic's Instagram?

Clause 9.6 requires the statement "there is no guarantee that the result will be the same, as it might vary from one individual to another", plus the risks, in the same font size as the rest of the post. Both photos must show the same person, taken with the same lens, with no editing software.

How much does it cost to hire help for an aesthetic clinic in Dubai?

Ten UAE agencies that publish prices had a median entry tier of AED 2,250 a month in BTR Consult's survey of 6 October 2026, from AED 1,500 to AED 3,999. BTR Consult runs Google Maps, reviews and WhatsApp for AED 6,500 a month plus a once-off Foundation Fee of AED 8,000 to AED 23,500, quoted in writing.

Does BTR Consult run my Instagram or paid ads?

No. Posting content, influencer work and paid campaigns are not part of any BTR Consult plan. We run the Google profile, reviews, treatment pages, the WhatsApp assistant and the other channels around them, and we keep your Instagram profile details accurate.
